Nagarkot to Changu Narayan Hiking trip is one of the popular day hiking trips around Kathmandu valley that bring you closer to nature and local life. Nagarkot lies about 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu on a hill top and is famous for panoramic view of mountain range and sunrise and sunset. As a hill station, Nagarkot has a pristine and serene natural atmosphere around that gives an incredible feeling of joy of being in the nature.

This hiking trip drives you up to Nagarkot from Kathmandu to start the hiking for the day. When you start the hike, you go through a small but beautiful local village where you can get a glimpse of local life style in the villages of Nepal. Later you hike past terraced fields where local people grow different kinds of seasonal crops and vegetables. From almost half way through, you enter a small forested area on a gentle uphill trail to find an easy gradual path to lead you to Changu Narayan temple, which is one of the heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley. You can explore the heritage site at the end of the trip before driving back to Kathmandu.

The hiking part, of about three and half hours, starts with pure nature and ends with heritage exploration. A beautiful mixture of nature and heritage, this adventure gives you a wonderful day experience in Kathmandu valley.
