Lobuche Peak Climbing adventure is an adventure climbing of one of the most popular trekking peaks, Lobuche (6,119m), near Mt. Everest and amidst several other magnificent Himalayan giants. Many Everest Expedition teams use Lobuche peak climbing as their acclimatizing trip during their climbing of Everest.

This adventure trip takes you all the way to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar to acclimatize before attempting the summit. After enjoying the base of the highest mountain in the world and also the stunning view from Kalapatthar, you head towards Lobuche peak for climbing adventure. After spending two nights at the foot of the peak – one at base camp and the other at high camp – you go for the summit climb. The technical climb of the peak takes you to the summit for a breathtaking view of the 8,000 meters peak of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and many other peaks in the region.

Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Kathmandu Arrival (1350m)

    It is the first day of trip and your arrival day in Kathmandu Nepal. When you land at the airport in Kathmandu and come out at the arrival lounge, our company representative will welcome you with a warm smile. Then, we will drive you to the trip hotel where you can spend relaxing time. We will have a meeting in the evening to talk about the trip in details.

  • Day 2
    Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour – B

    After you take your breakfast, a beautiful day sightseeing tour of heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley is due today. Visit Swoyambhunath – the monkey temple; Patan Durbar Square – the medieval palace square; Pashupatinath – the open cremation ground for Hindus; and Boudhanath – the biggest Buddhist stupa.

  • Day 3
    Kathmandu – Lukla 2,860m – Phakding 2640m – B.L.D

    Grab your early morning breakfast and drive to airport to board the flight to Lukla to enter Everest region. After a half hour of incredible flight, you will land at Lukla. It’s also the first day of trekking in the Everest region. Start trekking towards Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River. Walk past Buddhist prayer walls called mani walls, prayer flags, prayer wheels and beautiful nature.

    Overnight stay at Phakding.

  • Day 4
    Phakding – Namche 3,440m – B.L.D

    Enjoy your breakfast and start the trek to Namche bazar. Trek up towards Monjo along the Dudh Koshi river valley where you need to check into the Sagarmatha National Park counter to be able to walk further higher. Cross several suspension bridges and traverse the winding uphill trail to Namche bazar, the bustling Sherpa village in the region. Namche is also the most happening village in the Everest trail.

    Stay overnight at Namche.

  • Day 5
    Acclimatization Hike – B.L.D

    Once you take your breakfast and it’s time to get ready for an acclimatization hike that is necessary at this elevation to go even further higher towards the base camp. Hike up to the Everest view point to have the first ever glimpse of the highest mountain in the world. (You will have an option to hike to Thame, a beautiful Sherpa village, as well). Later return back to Namche to spend overnight.

  • Day 6
    Namche – Tengboche 3,860m – B.L.D

    Most of the section of the walk today is uphill towards Tengboche. Start the walk for the day after breakfast and enjoy the adventure with mesmerizing views and serene surroundings. Map the trail mostly up and down in some parts to emerge finally into Tengboche. Once you reach Tengboche and settle into a guest house, set out to explore the famous Tengboche monastery. Enjoy the view of majestic mountain peaks.

  • Day 7
    Tengboche – Dingboche 4,410m – B.L.D

    It’s another day of adventure walk towards a higher altitude. Start walking to Dingboche via villages of Diboche and Pangboche. You can enjoy some stunning views from along the way. Once you reach Pangboche, the trail divides into two parts – one that goes to Pheriche and the other that you take to go to Dingboche. A challenging uphill trail from Pangboche onwards takes you to Dingboche village to stay overnight.

  • Day 8
    Acclimatization Day – B.L.D

    One extra day here at Dingboche to hike around and to a higher elevation will help you to acclimatize. You can go for a hike to a higher point – of different choices. Later, when you come back to Dingboche after the hike, you can explore Dingboche village. The day will bring you some spectacular views on earth. Stay overnight at Dingboche.

  • Day 9
    Dingboche – Lobuche 4,940m – B.L.D

    Relish your breakfast and get ready to trek to Lobuche. Traverse the trail that passes through glacial moraine and bare surrounding. The landscapes get much different than those of the lower altitude. You feel the high soaring mountains even closer and they look even mightier. Trek past Thukla and eventually reach the tiny settlement of Lobuche to stay overnight.

  • Day 10
    Lobuche – Gorakshep 5,164m – Everest Base Camp 5,364m – B.L.D

    Get ready for the excitement of reaching the base of the highest mountain in the world. Trek to Gorakshep, where you will be spending overnight today and will be the highest overnight stop for the trip, and settle into a guest house. Enjoy your lunch and get ready to trek to Everest base camp. The trail passes through moraine and boulders on a gradual ascent. You finally reach the base camp where you will enjoy some precious moments of your life; take pictures and set an everlasting memory. Later, return back to Gorakshep to stay overnight.

  • Day 11
    Gorakshep – Kalapatthar 5,545m – Lobuche Peak Base Camp – B.L.D

    Get up early morning for a challenging hike up to the stunning view point of Kalapatthar at the elevation of 5545 meters above for excellent panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks right in front of you. Later, trek down to Gorakshep and to take your breakfast. After breakfast, proceed on the trek for the day down to Lobuche and then to Lobuche Peak base camp to attempt Lobuche Peak climbing. Stay overnight there.

  • Day 12
    Base Camp – High Camp 5,400m – B.L.D

    Climb up to High camp today. You will walk along the glacial path with the spectacular view of Himalayan peaks of Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Kangtega etc. After going past the base camp, the trail turns into rocky moraine that leads you to the high camp. You will have a pre-climbing orientation. You will talk about all the climbing techniques and use of climbing equipment. Later, spend the day at leisure and acclimatize.

  • Day 13
    High Camp – Summit 6,119m – High Camp – B.L.D

    Start the adventure really early almost right after midnight. As you have to be at the summit before noon, you need to start early. High mountains are extremely windy thus dangerous in the afternoon. So you try to be on the summit as early as possible in the calm morning. The first section of our walk towards the Lobuche peak summit goes on the rocky surface and the second section is tricky icy one. The second surface climb needs the help of climbing rope which will be fixed by our climbing guide.

    After a strenuous effort you reach the summit. Enjoy some quality time at the summit and take pictures. You can enjoy the panoramic view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse and many other Himalayan peaks from the top. Later, descend to high camp to stay overnight.

  • Day 14
    Contingency Day – B.L.D

    This is the day to make up any possible but unpredictable delay on the climbing.

  • Day 15
    High Camp – Pangboche – B.L.D

    After an awesome climbing adventure, you are on the way back now. Start the trek after breakfast and proceed towards Pheriche via Lobuche. On reaching Pheriche, you can simply spend relaxing time.

  • Day 16
    Pheriche – Khumjung 3,790m – B.L.D

    Descend the trail in elevation towards Khumjung today. As you trek lower, you feel relieved but the trek up to the base camp was definitely worth taking. You will still have beautiful views of the mountain peaks along the trail today. Once you reach Khumjung village, you can explore the surroundings.

  • Day 17
    Khumjung – Monjo 2,835m – B.L.D

    Today, you trek all the way back down to Monjo, the point where you exit the Sagarmatha National Park. The trail passes through Namche Bazar. You can take a leisurely walk around once you reach Monjo.

  • Day 18
    Monjo – Lukla 2,860m – B.L.D

    Enjoy the last day of trek today while trekking to Lukla. Exit the national park check point and start trekking down towards Phakding village on the bank of Dudh Koshi River and walk further ahead to Lukla. Celebrate the joy of the end of this trekking adventure. Stay overnight at Lukla.

  • Day 19
    Lukla – Kathmandu – B

    It’s time to say goodbye to the Everest region now. Take a flight back to Kathmandu after several days of peaceful and adventurous moments in the Everest region. Once in Kathmandu, you can spend leisurely time walking around the streets or engaging yourself in the activities of your choice available Kathmandu.

  • Day 20
    Departure Day – B

    Today is the final day of this trip and we will drive you to airport for the departure flight.
